Clown finds the old man and shoots him with a ray gun. A Couple from the hill go to the comet site and find a circus tent. The Couple enter the circus and it looks weird inside. They find a door and realise it is not a circus as they enter a big room. They then realise the circus tent is the comet they found. They then enter a room filled with candy floss hanging with bodies inside, then they get chased by a clown around the circus tent.
Clowns then chase after them with a dog made from a blue balloon. They run back to the car they arrived in and get out of the forest. Clowns begin to head to the city of Crescent cove where the car headed. Couple head to the police station, the women in the couple knows a friend at the police station and they go to tell him.

The clowns have a puppet show at a park gazebo and a man comes along to watch, clowns then destroy the gazebo and shoot the man and make him a cotton candy gazebo. Another clown at a drug store turns 2 girls into cotton candy as it destroys the store. The rest of the clowns go round handing out love presents and turning them into candy floss cocoon.
The cop and the couple drop the women off then they go up to where the circus was and find out it is not there anymore, the man gets arrested and they then drive off, coming across an empty car with its hazard lights on. The cop then finds some candy floss on a car next to the empty car and it is covered with candy floss inside, the cop finds some cracked glasses inside. The man concludes that a guy up on the hill is dead as that is his glasses. There is a stubborn police officer and he gets many calls about clowns however ignores them as he thinks they are false.

At the women’s house, the popcorn proceeds to move around and at a burger place, a clown puts popcorn inside a bin, a worker comes along putting rubbish inside the bin but gets eaten inside the bin by the popcorn. The cop car pulls up to a clown and watches as it eats a bunch if people get eaten. The cop radios in to the stubborn cop but he still doesn’t listen about the clowns. They then see an ice cream van which is owned by friends of the man. The man and the ice cream men go to the women’s house.

The stubborn police officer then sees a clown walk into the station and puts the clown into a cell, the clown then chokes the officer. The other cop then returns to the station to see lots of unanswered calls and then goes into the jail room to see foot prints all over the wall and a cocoon in the back of a cell, as the officer checks the cocoon, an arm hangs from the roof, it is another cocoon, the cop walks back into the room with the unanswered calls to see the clown make the stubborn police officer into a puppet. The clown gets up and starts to walk over to the officer but as the clown walks over, the cop shoots at the clown but as he takes his third shots to the clown’s nose and finds his weakness as the clowns are their weakness.

Then as the ice cream van is on its way to the women’s house, they bump into a clown parade killing people and turning them into cocoons. The ice cream van turns around and drives off. As the women is getting out the shower, she sees the popcorn has turned into clowns with long necks. Next the clowns begin to attack her and put her inside a ball. As the ice cream van arrives to the women’s house, a clown car takes off with the ball with the women in, then the ice cream van chases after it with the cop who helped them earlier, they stop and the cop car then gets damaged so the cop gets in the van.

The cop tells them to get into the van and drive to the amusement park. The clowns arrive and melt a guard with custard pies and enter the ‘CRAZY HOUSE’, the ice cream van then arrives and they all enter as well. They walk through the crazy house and hear sounds, the two ice cream men then get dropped into a ball pit with clown children. The cop and the man then enter the cocoon room looking for the women but have to hide as they watch a clown come in and drink a cocoon. They then find the women and they begin to get out but clowns come in so they can’t save anyone else but now get chased through the circus tent by the clowns whilst the cop shoots a few whilst the get chased. They then get corned in a room full with clowns with melee weapons then the ice cream truck bursts through the door. The ice cream truck starts acting like a good and distracts the clowns, then they run off. Shortly after, an oversized clown falls from the ceiling and destroys the ice cream truck, then it begins to chase after the cop whilst the couple run off.

The couple get outside the tent whilst it flies up into the air, shortly after they escape, the over-sized clown then gets its nose popped by the cops badge as it picks him up and he gets an arm free. As the clown dies, the tent then blows up. The cops then arrive after it blows up and they meet up with the couple, when it blows up, a clown car lands near the cops and the couple, the cops then aim at the car and the door opens, the cop appears and then the two ice cream men appear as well. The ice cream men explain that they survived in the ice cream freezer.

ETHICS: Impact of computer games on society

ETHICS: Impact of computer games on society

Concerns such as:
Excessive play time - When going from gamer to gamer, Gamers who play consistently is a different as different gamers play for different amount of times. I myself can play up to eight hours a day when I am not at school however school days I will play up to four to five hours a day. Some gamers can play for longer such as twelve to sixteen hours where as some may do it for an hour or two. According to scientists, have long game hours or having an excessive play time may lead to a 'Gaming Addiction' which is hard to take breaks from. This addictions has been classed by doctors as a real mental disorder, Doctors classify as this because during a gaming session, if a gamer was to achieve something or won a game or something, Dopamine would be released giving them that pleasurable feeling of satisfaction. The head of one software company said "In the hypothetical world created by such games, they become confident and gain satisfaction, which they cannot get in the real world."
Social Isolation - This isn't true for every gamer, hell it isn't true for MOST gamers, this is a rare thing to see from a gamer, Social isolation is when you completely lock yourself out from society like the hermits us gamers are and refuse to talk to anyone whether it be online or in real life. Bringing back the addiction we all know to love, this can be a side effect of it as you will feel like you just want to play more and more, "oh just a couple minutes more and then i'll hang out" and then BOOM. You do an all nighter and completely forget about your friends, Great friend you are. Essentially what I am trying to say that it is scientifically proven that gaming addictions can lead to you being put off of the subject of the matter that your friend, family or partner has brought up so you completely ignore it and carry on gaming.
(source : http://www.video-game-addiction.org/social-consequences.html)

Cost - Now when we hear cost we immediately think of finances however cost can also mean a loss of something. A few issues with gaming that can be counted as a 'Cost' is the cost of you mental and physical health, gaming gives you stress, can cause an increase in laziness such as lack of hygiene and it can aslo make people have a lack of sleep.

LA Noire Game Review

Game Review
LA Noire is a third person RPG where you are a police detective who just came back from the war to deal with a city of crime in the one place known for gambling and robbery, Los Angeles. You play as Cole Phelps as he rises through the ranks in the police department back in 1948. You are placed with a partner during each crime case and encounter many murders, robberies, fraud, random duty calls and other crimes a like.

This game is amazing for its graphics at its time during 2011 however it isn't perfect. There is a few textures that i'd rate better than GTA V's. NOW before you scream at me, just take a look at these images, both taken in game.

See my point? Anyway, here is the trailer for LA Noire released in January 2011

This game contains, violence, nudity and vulgar language unsuitable for children.
In the UK this game is rated 18
This game may seem bad from the statement then but actually, it is quite fun immersing yourself with a game that is set after the war and having to deal with war veterans either in distress or creating a mess, This game has limited guns which is a bit annoying however the immersion built up inside the game with its firefights and chases makes up for it. There is a wide variety of cars that you can find, steal 'for police business' or get as you move up the ranks in the LA:PD.

Top 10 Games with stories

Hey guys, today I am just going to be going over my top 10 video games with great stories! These games are NOT in any particular order but just my 10 favourite games with stories.

Number 10 : Last of Us
Last of us was released in 2013 and was big hit to the apocalyptic game genre and sold 8 MILLION copies by August 2014! 7 Million on PlayStation 3 and 1 million on PlayStation 4. It follows the character Joel just trying to survive in a world of infected individuals that crave the flesh of humans. Like Zombies but they act human almost. As time goes on, Older infected begin to transform from normal to blind and infested with fungus, these are known as clickers and hence the name 'clickers', they make clicking noises. Joel, a survivor in the apocalypse and Ellie, a teenage girl who could change the world as we know it battle through the cities nature reclaimed herself.

Number 9 : The Halo Series
The Halo series was first brought out in 2001 and still a bit hit to this day as an Xbox exclusive game and soon to be PC with the newest introduction to the Halo 5 Forge for PC. The first Halo game released in 2001 really showed the limits of the original Xbox and sold more than 5 million copies world wide by 2005. By then Halo 2 had already been released. I know I said that this would be based on games but I couldn't simply choose ONE halo game so we just included the whole series because they are all great. Halo is about a super soldier known as 'Petty Officer Master Chief John 117', it's a mouthful but his nickname by all is 'The Master Chief'. He embarks on missions with his trusty companion Cortana, an AI and they both rush to destroy the alien alliance known as 'The Covenant' and stop them from activating old ancient sentient beings weapons and destroying them before they are used for total destruction over the universe.

Number 8 : Grand Theft Auto 5
Grand theft auto 5 was released in 2013 and is a massive hit with the online community ever since the introduction to 'GTA - Online', When I purchased Grand theft Auto 5, it was mainly for the online however when you discover campaign, You get to feel how criminal would complete their operations with perfection, organisation and with style. You play as three main characters, Michael, Franklin and Trevor. Each of which move to Los Santos (which is the clone of Los Angeles) and due to coincidence, they all meet to do heists and as you progress, the heists get harder and the pay gets bigger! Overall for a free roam with a massive map, It is overall one of the best free roam games I've ever played.

Number 7 : LA Noire
In a city riddled with crime and murders after the recent W.W.2, LA Noire takes place. LA Noire was released in 2011 and sold over 5 million copies for PC and Consoles in the first year to August 2012. In LA Noire you play as Cole Phelps, a War veteran who joins the force and works his way up the ranks interrogating with multiple choice and solving mysteries. You end up with a 'snazzy' car and an annoying partner roaming the streets of LA undercover and catching anyone who strays from the law. The map is big and to be honest, My favourite game set in the 20th Century.

Number 6 : Telltale's The Walking Dead
Telltale executed The Walking dead game series perfectly, The Walking Dead sold over 1 Million copies in the first 20 Days! This is season one only bare in mind! The game sets you as the character Lee Everett who was to be transported to the Atlanta prison but was delayed by a stray 'Walker' in the road. Lee then meets up with a young girl named clementine who's parents were in Savannah and Lee promises clementine he'll take her there to go find them in hope that she can re-unite with them and be happy, little do they know, happiness is just a thing of the past...

Number 5 : Left 4 Dead
Left for dead is a zombie based FPS in america created by valve using the source engine. Left for Dead was released in 2008 for PC and XBOX. It had sold over 629 thousand on XBOX 360 in the first MONTH! Left 4 Dead is about a group of 4 survivors surviving in the apocalypse and after surviving 2 weeks, they begin to realise the zombies are changing! Things, just got real.

Number 4 : Dying Light
Dying light is a parkour apocalypse based game set in the city of Harran (fictional, implied to be in turkey) and is set around a military mission set by the GRE to send a guy in to find a war lord who might have a cure for the virus. Dying light managed to sell 5 million copies with the first 7 to 8 months of sale as it was released in January 2015.

Number 3 : Dead Island
Dead Island is a fictional zombie game (Well, all of the are fictional) that takes place at a holiday resort just north of Australia. To the survivors, they have no idea why they haven't turned yet and have no idea how the infection began, however they soon find out in the epic zombie action FPS. Dead island alone managed to sell over 5 million copies being Techland's (The developers) most successful game!

Unit - 78 : Digital Graphics for Computer Games - Types of computer game graphics

Level 3 Games Design
Unit - 78 : Digital Graphics for Computer Games

Research
Computer Game Graphics

-Pixel art
Pixel art can consist of 2D Sprites, 3D isometric sprites (2D Sprites that look 3D) and other things like backgrounds and stuff made from pixels. Pixel art is a popular art style amongst the 2D games. A well known game that uses pixel art is Pokemon (The older games like red)
Pokemon : Red uses both 2D sprites and 3D isometric sprites, the game mainly consists of 3D isometric entities and such to make the game look better.

-Concept Art
Concept art is essentially planning and drawing sketches to build up a game and know exactly what you are going to me creating when using the software's to create, Textures, backgrounds graphics, sprites etc...
Essentially sketching up ideas for a game.
This is a destiny concept art designed by Bungie. Concept art is also used to be submitted to a game published by developers to see if they will support the game and publish it.

-Texture Art
Texture art is making materials in a game actually feel like they have a texture, texture is the way a material looks and feels
This is an example of texture art. This is from Batman Arkham city and shows a few textures and how they are shown blending in with the surroundings.

-Background Graphics
Background graphics are vector or raster images used in the background or sky box of a game. These can be sky materials or even hills, it can be whatever suits the game.
This is uncharted 3, here it shows the difference between background models and background graphics, graphics are more or less put far away or are made to look far away where as models are there to interact with.

-In-Game Interface
In game interface can refer to stuff such as H.U.D or Heads Up Display. The H.U.D contains stuff like your EXP level, the stage your on in a game, health, ammo etc... Essentially anything you see all the time on the screen that helps you through out the game.
This is a Halo 5 H.U.D, It shows your shields health, current grenades selected/on your person, a map, cross hair, health, ammo and decorative features.

-Print media art
Print media art is essentially promotion to get a game known for people to see and make them want to buy the game, this can include stuff such posters, the video game cover, manuals and other promotional methods alike.
This is the game cover for aliens vs predator, it uses a bright green and black colour scheme and has logos along the bottom of developers, publishers and license holders. On the bottom left there is an age rating 'Mature 17+'. This tells people the sort of game it is if it has an age rating like that and that is was meant for people of the age of 17 and over.

-Vector Graphics
Vector Graphics are images that, no matter how far you zoom in, the image will never pixelate like a photo. So what this means is that you can scale the image to however big or small you want and it won't lose quality! Vector images use formats such as PSD (PhotoShop Document). WMF (Windows Meta File). FLA (Flash Movie Authoring File). and AI (Adobe Illustrator File).
-Raster Graphics
Raster Graphics are images that depend on quality to look goor or bad. Raster images are built up of pixels and when there is A LOT of pixels in a picture such as 1080x1080, then it is considered high quality but low pixels like are low quality images such as 64x64. Raster images use formats such as, BMP (Bitmap File), JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group), GIF (Graphics interchange format) and TIFF (Tagged Image File Format).

Gaming machines

Unit 20 Game platform & technology
Gaming Machines

Arcade Machines:
Arcade Machines are big machines created for the purpose of children or adults in their spare time to go to the arcade and play computer games for a small fee. Each machine's game can cost between 20p to £1 depending on the machine but most are 50p or £1. A few well known arcade machines can include PACMAN, Space Invaders and street fighter.
With arcade Machines You are limited to one game and built in controls. Also, with this the only multiplayer available is Co-Op, not online where as most games for the other gaming platforms can support online multiplayer.

Console:
Consoles are smaller machines but roughly most are the size of a small PC CPU, There is many brands but he most noticeable brands of consoles are XBOX, Play Station and Nintendo. Consoles normally cost between £100 - £400 depending on the brand and their games being £20 - £60 Brand new, Second hand being considerably lower. With Gaming Consoles, you can play as many games that you want that are built for that specific console, You may also need a TV though to play on a console and for better gameplay, you will need to buy a mic to communicate online. Multiplayer is restricted to online on THAT console only so Xbox can only play with Xbox players, etc.

PC
PC is considered 'The PC Master Race' by some gamers because of how well PC can do and how most gaming PC's can beat modern consoles depending on their specs. As A PC player myself my judgement can be considered bias. Personally I believe PC is the best due to the plain simple fact that with the right specs, it can beat an console any day. Most gaming PC's can cost between £200-£1000+, The PC shown below was about £300 and it can run GTA V pretty smoothly. With PC, You are required to have a Monitor, A Keyboard and a Mouse which could cost you an extra £100 unless your computer comes with this as standard.
Mobile
Mobile gaming is slightly getting forgotten now as people mostly play games on console and PC and people are on messenger all the time or Pokemon GO. Most phones cost from £70-£120 and you could easily buy a second hand console for that. With Mobile devices such as phones themselves and DS' etc... They require to be charged all the time and that replacing a damaged screen isn't easy as you can risk the actually phone itself. The 3DS created by Nintendo is quite a high seller for Nintendo and helps them earn a lot of money

As we can see from the specs listed above, the original XBOX cannot handle any game that may run smoothly on the PC specs of the Atom Gaming PC. I own this PC and I can say as a fact that GTA V which is quite a big game, can run smoothly on the Gaming Atom PC. The Original XBOX could not handle this but the sequel in the XBOX line, The 360 Managed to run GTA.

                                HALO : CE - XBOX                         GTA V - PC

Massive difference between textures, models and lighting.

Artistic Styles

Level 3 Games Design
Unit - 78 : Digital Graphics for Computer Games

Artistic Styles

Photo Realism - An artistic style used to show things that look real however are actually not. Hence Photo Realism-- Realistic Photo.

GTA V was released in 2013 and did an excellent job of showing photo realism.

GTA V Made players actually feel like they were immersed in a world of crime and that you shouldn't trust anyone as they could pull a gun or do a run. Actually being able to call the NPC's human really shows how photo-realistic GTA V is.

Abstraction - An artistic style that consists of just shapes of random (non)polygons and many different colours. Pablo Picasso was known for abstract art work such as 'The Weeping Women'.

Tetris was released in 1984 and would be a great example of abstraction.
Tetris really showed players back 'in the day' how games are good things to keep you occupied being one of the first games made, Tetris was fun because of its abstract blocks that you must place down in the smartest place to ensure you can proceed further without touching the top of your screen!

Pixel Art - An artistic style consisting of squares put together at a small scale.

An example of Pixel art is Pokemon Red. It was released in 1996 and was made for the game-boy

Pokemon Red was one of the first games that kids enjoyed playing with a good story that was easy to follow on with. It used sprites with different animations to show the direction the way they would face. This game was pixelated so immersion wasn't very good however players enjoyed the game for it's challenging battles and great story line.

Exaggeration - An artistic style that-- hence the title, over exaggerates things. These can include stuff like hair on characters, swords, jaw lines etc.

An Example of Exaggeration could be final fantasy 7 which uses the anime/manga art style for the characters which uses exaggerated swords, chins, eyes and other facial features you wouldn't see naturally on a human.

Final fantasy 7 was released in 1997 and was the first in the series to show 3D gameplay, Previous games had also shown the anime art style however Final Fantasy 7 showed it the best. The game gave a great immersion with it being the first 3D game in the series and it's animations added.
